I purchased a registration code for an Ultrasoft product, and I provided and confirmed a different HotSync ID. How do I change my HotSync ID to match my registration code?

I'm planning to purchase a registration code for an Ultrasoft product. Since the code is based on my HotSync ID and cannot later be changed, I'd like to switch my HotSync ID to something else now before I buy. How is this done?

WINDOWS USERS:

1. Click Start->Programs->Palm Desktop and run the "Palm Desktop" application.

2. In the "Palm Desktop" application, click on the "Tools" menu, then the "Users" menu item.

3. Select your HotSync ID, click the "Rename" button, change it to the ID for which you will purchase a registration code, and click OK.

4. Close the "Palm Desktop" application.

5. Synchronize your handheld. Its HotSync ID will be changed to match the ID you just entered on your PC.

MAC USERS:

1. Locate the folder where you installed the Palm Desktop software, and run the "Palm Desktop" application.

2. In the "Palm Desktop" application, click on the "HotSync" menu, then the "Users" menu item, then "Edit Users".

3. Select your HotSync ID, click the "Edit" button, change it to the ID for which you will purchase a registration code, and click OK.

4. Close the "Palm Desktop" application.

5. Synchronize your handheld. Its HotSync ID will be changed to match the ID you just entered on your Mac.
