Problem
What versions of Microsoft Money are supported by Ultrasoft Money for Palm OS?

Solution
Ultrasoft Money version 5 supports Microsoft Money 2002 to 2007, and Microsoft Money Plus. It does not support earlier or later versions of Microsoft Money.

Ultrasoft Money version 2 works with Microsoft Money 98 to 2001. It does not work with earlier or later versions of Microsoft Money.

When you purchase Ultrasoft Money version 5 from the Ultrasoft Store, you also receive a registration code for version 2.

When you run the Ultrasoft Money setup program, it will detect which version of Microsoft Money you're using, and install the correct version of Ultrasoft Money.

The software has been extensively tested with the U.S. editions of Microsoft Money 98 to 2007 and Microsoft Money Plus. It has also been tested with various U.K. and Canadian editions, and with the "Personal & Business" and "Deluxe & Business" editions.

We have customers using it with the French, Spanish, German, and Portuguese editions of various Microsoft Money versions.

Note: Ultrasoft Money does not support Microsoft Money Essentials Edition at this time.

The data you enter into Ultrasoft Money can be synchronized directly with Microsoft Money, and much of the data contained in Microsoft Money can be downloaded and updated on your Palm OS handheld computer:

- up to 15 "everyday" bank accounts (version 2 and earlier only*; version 3 and later have no limit)
- most types of transactions: checks, withdrawals, deposits, transfers, etc.
- split transactions, including paychecks
- "memorized" transactions for auto-completion of entries
- scheduled bills and deposits
- categories and classifications
- multiple currencies and exchange rates
- statement information and account reconciliation
- much more!

(*) If you have more than 15 accounts in your Microsoft Money database, you can choose to synchronize only your "favorite" accounts.

To maintain the integrity of your Money database, you cannot delete accounts, categories and classifications on your handheld if they were synchronized with your PC. (Transactions on your PC that were not downloaded may be referencing these records.) You can do this in Microsoft Money and then synchronize.

While Ultrasoft Money is considered to be the most powerful and feature-rich financial application available for Palm OS handheld computers, it is not a "clone" of Microsoft Money, and there are some Microsoft Money features that it does not support, including:

- loan accounts and automatic loan payments
- investment accounts
- on-line bill payments and statement updates
- air miles
- tax preparation
- business extensions (invoices, A/R, etc.)
- financial news and stock quotes
