Problem
Each time I try to synchronize Ultrasoft Money, open its settings or run the Ultrasoft Money diagnostic, I get a prompt from Windows asking for permission to continue.

Solution

In order to access your Microsoft Money 2002, 2003 or 2004 database on Vista or Windows 7, Ultrasoft Money requires administrator rights.

The initial release of Ultrasoft Money did not support synchronization with Money 2002, 2003 or 2004 via Windows Mobile Device Center, and would fail with a 0x8004000e or 0x8007000e error code.

Ultrasoft Money version 1.0.2 and later will automatically request administrator rights. If you have Vista or Windows 7 User Accounts Control (UAC) configured to prompt for rights elevation, then you will be asked for permission to continue.

Microsoft Money 2005 and later does not require administrator rights, and does not exhibit this behavior.
